Kenneth was born on August 7, 1913, in Tulare, South Dakota, to Charles and Ethel Stephens Wieting. He was raised in Tulare and graduated from Tulare High School. He also received a degree from Sioux Falls College in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
On October 27, 1937, he was married to Pearl J. Lofgren in Sioux Falls. The couple lived in Sioux Falls until 1967 when they moved to Estherville, Iowa. He worked in the personnel department of the John Morrell Company for over 40 years. Following his retirement in 1980 the couple moved to Bentonville, Arkansas. They moved to Grinnell in 1990 to be near their daughter, Kay Davoux.
Kenneth was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church of Grinnell, the Grinnell Kiwanis Club, the Grinnell Country Club and the Seeland Park Board of Directors. He enjoyed volunteering at Grinnell Regional Medical Center, fishing, golfing, quilting and attending sporting events.
Survivors include his son, Roger (Kathryn) Wieting of St. Louis, MO; and his daughter, Kay (Paul) Davoux of Grinnell; four grandchildren; and eight great granddaughters. He was preceded in death by his wife; his parents; one brother, Morris; and three sisters, Lucie, Trewhella and Lois.
