Kenneth E. Pietz, 62, of Kellogg, died June 13, 2008, at his home. A gathering of family and friends will be held 5:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 18, at the Kellogg American Legion Hall with the Rev. Mike Johnson leading in service. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Kenneth E. Pietz Memorial Fund. Kenny was born October 11, 1945, in Brainerd, Minnesota, to Ernest and Evelyn Hanson Pietz. He was raised in Brainerd and moved with his family to the Rock Creek area in 1961. He worked various jobs throughout his life and for the last several years he was employed as a bartender in Kellogg where he had lived since 1991. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, family and friends and he loved his pet dog, Sadie. He lived life as he wanted without apology. Survivors include his companion, Jan Tedrow of Kellogg; four children, Larry (Anna) Pietz of Newton, Jeri (Jerry) Smith of Newton, Audra (Bob) Porter of Colfax, and Angela Henderson of Des Moines; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Arthur Pietz; and a son-in-law, Lewis Hobbs.
