Kenneth C. Jantzen, age 70 of Grinnell, died on Friday, January 1, 2021 at his residence.
A public visitation will be held from 9:00 am until 10:00 am on Thursday, January 7, 2021 at the Smith Funeral Home in Grinnell. A face mask will be required for those attending the visitation.
A public graveside service will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, January 7th at Sheridan Cemetery north of Grinnell. The service will be live streamed on the Smith Funeral Home Facebook page.

Kenneth was born the son of Clifford and Ellen (Irwin) Jantzen on August 28, 1950 in Grinnell, Iowa. He was raised on the family farm in the Sheridan Township northeast of Grinnell and attended Newburg school. He graduated from Grinnell High School with the class of 1968. He attended Indian Hills Community College in Ottumwa, Iowa and received an AA degree in farm machinery repair.
Kenneth worked at Grinnell Implement in the service department for several years. He later owned and operated Jantzen Sales and Service north of Grinnell. He also assisted with the Jantzen family farm operation. Due to an accident, Kenneth was forced to retire and resided at St. Francis Manor in Grinnell.
Kenneth enjoyed attending races at the Iowa Speedway in Newton and the Knoxville Speedway. He enjoyed repairing and restoring old family tractors and spending time with his beloved family and friends.
Kenneth is survived by his mother, Ellen Jantzen of Grinnell; daughter, Sara Kuhns of Norwalk, Iowa; son, Dennis Jantzen of Mount Pleasant, Iowa; and sister, Pauline Sharp of Grinnell. He was preceded in death by his father, Clifford Jantzen in 1998; brother, James Jantzen in 2008; and sister, Peggy Jantzen in 2020.
