Kenneth L. Isenberg, 66, of Grinnell died August 15, 2007, at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines. Funeral services are scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Monday, August 20, at the Grinnell United Methodist Church with the Rev. Len Eberhart officiating. Organist will be Kathleen Heffner. Pallbearers will be Dan Agnew, Steve Hardeman, Mike Hotchkin, Howard Johnston, Jim Onthank, Stuart Porter, Steve Randall, and Kevin Stallman. Honorary bearers will be Ron Algreen, Chuck Cushman, Larry Gibson, Robert Gist, Russell Horn, Larry Manning, and Don Schild. Burial will be in Hazelwood Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Kenneth L. Isenberg Memorial Fund. The son of Harland Ray and Wilma Bigalk Isenberg, he was born May 19, 1941, in Sheldon, Iowa. He was raised in Dexter and was a 1959 graduate of Dexter High School. He attended the University of Iowa as an undergrad and also the pharmacy school there and graduated in 1964. On September 5, 1964, he was married to Gretchen Godby, in Earlham, and the couple made their home in Grinnell. He was employed as a pharmacist at Cunningham Drug for 35 years and was currently a pharmacist at Village Pharmacy in Brooklyn. Ken was an active member of the Grinnell United Methodist Church. He was also active with the Grinnell Elks Lodge, Grinnell Lions Club, and the Grinnell Regional Medical Center Self-Management Program Advisory Committee. He was a life member of the University of Iowa Alumni Association and as an avid Iowa Hawkeye fan he was a long-time member of the I-Club. His memberships also included Ducks Unlimited and Pheasants Forever. He enjoyed golfing, hunting and fishing, and helping with the annual 10th Avenue Place/10th Avenue 4th of July parade. Survivors include his wife, Gretchen of Grinnell; two sons, Jeff and his fiancee, Cara Smith of Colorado Springs, Colorado and Tom of Des Moines; and one sister, Ruth Ann Hampton of Scottsdale, Arizona. He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant daughter in 1969.
