Karrin Sue Purscell, age 63 of Grinnell and formerly of Indianola, passed away on Saturday, March 20, 2021 at her residence in Grinnell. Smith Funeral Home of Grinnell has been entrusted with her cremation arrangements. A family service will be held at a later date. Memories and condolences may be shared with her family online at www.smithfh.com. Karrin Sue Purscell was born the daughter of Lewis and Faye (Orr) Purscell on January 2, 1958 in Newton, Iowa. She was raised and attended school in Colfax, Iowa. Karrin had various part time jobs throughout her years, including working in the kitchen of the Russell elementary school. Karrin moved around throughout Iowa over the years with her lifelong partner, Donnie until his passing. Karrin lived in many cities including Colfax, Newton, Russell, Indianola, Grinnell, and many others. Karrin loved animals, especially her cats and her longtime favorite cat, Baby girl. They were everything to her. She enjoyed taking care of animals and rescuing animals. She had a good heart and would give others anything she had extra of if they needed it. Karrin is survived by her two daughters and a Bonus daughter, Jacqueline (Greg) Fischer of North Carolina and Jennifer (Rob) Streeter of Monroe, IA, and Cyndi (Jeff) Lane of MO. She also leaves behind 5 grandchildren, Hanneh, Gabbi, Makena, Gavin and Korbyn; and siblings, Gerri (Sonny) Rodenborn of California, Kaye Bennett of Tennessee, Pat (Micky) Ingle of Des Moines IA, and William Purscell of Colfax IA; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Donna; and longtime partner, Donnie Adkins.
