Julie Faye Loftin was born the daughter of Grover Junior Loftin and Faye Carmen (Gross) Loftin on September 25, 1964, in Grinnell, Iowa. Julie lived with her parents on the family farm near Grinnell before moving to town. On any given day you could see her riding her 3-wheeled bicycle to get the mail and waving to everyone. Just like her dad and her brother Mike, she never knew a stranger. Julie graduated from Pleasant Hill Developmental Center in Marshalltown, Iowa in 1985. Julie had a memory like no other! She could remember a dog's name that she was introduced to 20 years ago. She loved kitties and always wanted to stop at Dari Barn for a strawberry shake. She had a great sense of humor, asking over and over what your name was when she knew it all along. Julie always wanted visitors to sing hymnals with her. Julie traveled to many states with her parents showing Hampshire hogs and she loved camping with Uncle Claire & Aunt Hazel Gross and her parents. She especially enjoyed camping at the Iowa State Fair, watching Mike and her dad show hogs, riding the skyline, and talking her dad into taking her to the thrift store to buy beads. BEADS……… Anyone who knows Julie knows how much she loved beads, and boy did she have a LOT of them. Whenever someone asked her what she wanted she always responded the same… BEADS!! Even when she knew she would be in trouble with her mom by asking people for more. Julie is survived by her sister-in-law, Dena Loftin of Grinnell; and her nieces and nephews, Deidra Haigh of Illinois, Matthew Loftin of Washington, Anne Henry of Colorado, and Jill Muniz of Colorado. She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Grover Michael Loftin in 2008; and a nephew, Michael Todd Loftin in 1966.
