Joyce Diane Grandstaff, 75, of Grinnell, died on February 23, 2022, at Grinnell Health Care Center.
Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m. Monday, February 28th, at the Smith Funeral Home in Grinnell. Burial will be in Hazelwood Cemetery in Grinnell.
The Grandstaff family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Memorials may be designated to the Iowa Veterans Home in Marshalltown and mailed in c/o the Smith Funeral Home, P.O. Box 368, Grinnell, Iowa 50112.

Diane was born on February 21, 1947, in Grinnell, the daughter of Ronald William Grandstaff and Joyce Lavene Abarr. She was raised in the Grinnell area and received her education in the Grinnell School District.
Diane held various jobs in Grinnell prior to enlisting in the United States Navy in 1977. She was honorably discharged from the Navy in 1981.
After her military service, she was employed at DeLong Sportswear.
Diane was very artistic; she enjoyed painting, sewing, crafts, and crocheting. She was very talented! She also had a "green thumb" and had plants galore that she enjoyed caring for.
She is survived by three children, Greg Sampson of Bothell, Washington, Amanda Crane of Loris, South Carolina, and Garry Wayne Dayton of New Sharon; five grandchildren, Ava Sampson, and Jackie, Rebecca, Jonathan, and Noah Crane; one sister, Megan Mart of Grinnell; and three brothers, Dan Grandstaff of Mason City, Bill Grandstaff of Lehigh Acres, Florida, and Mike Grandstaff of Marshalltown. She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Jeff Sampson; and a brother, Randy Grandstaff,
