She was raised near Hartwick, Iowa and she graduated from Hartwick High School in 1951. She then attended American Institute of Business College in Des Moines, Iowa. She was united in marriage to Willis Miller on November 29, 1952 at St. Bridget Catholic Church in Victor. The couple farmed near Victor and she was a homemaker. The couple was blessed with ten children, Jane, David, Julie, Mary Jo, Michael, Jeff, Randy, Lori, Katie and Tim. Jo Ann was a member of St. Bridget Catholic Church in Victor. She dearly loved her family, especially her grandchildren. She was an avid Hawkeye fan and her enjoyments included tending to her flowers, gardening and watching birds. Jo Ann is survived by her husband of fifty-seven years, Willis Miller of Victor; her children, Jane Rupp of Roseville, California, David (Kathy) Miller of Victor, Julie (Larry) Grier of Guernsey, Iowa, Mary Jo (John) Patten of Victor, Mike Miller of Victor, Jeff Miller of Victor, Randy (Marilyn) Miller of Victor, Lori (Steve) Slaymaker of Marengo, Katie (Jake) Miller of Wellsboro, Pennsylvania, and Tim (Jamie) Miller of Blairstown, Iowa; 26 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; her sisters, Mary Kay Herzberg of Oregon, Marcella Van Nevel of Belle Plaine, Iowa, Jeanne Van Nevel of Victor; and her brother, Mike Wentland of Hartwick. She was preceded in death by her parents; a grandson, Todd Miller; and her brother, John Wentland.
