Janice Rae Springer, 78, of Grinnell, died on December 26, 2024, at St. Francis Manor in Grinnell. A funeral service is scheduled for 10:30 AM, Monday, December 30th at Smith Funeral Home – Grinnell with burial at Rock Creek Cemetery. Following the service, those that wish not to attend the burial may enjoy fellowship at the St. Francis Manor Social Center and family will join for a luncheon following the burial.

Janice was born on January 10, 1946, in Grinnell, Iowa, daughter of David William Springer Jr. and Della Augusta (Deppe) Springer. Janice was raised in Grinnell and graduated from Grinnell Highschool with the Class of 1965.

Throughout her life, she found joy in creative pursuits such as embroidery and crafts. She also loved watching football, cheering for whichever team happened to be playing. Janice cherished time spent with family and friends, especially visits from her niece, nephew, and their families. Known for her ornery and feisty spirit, she brought laughter and warmth to those around her.

She is survived by her brother David "Rick" Springer and his wife Diana of Kellogg, Iowa; her nephew William Springer; her niece Alisha Springer and her fiancé Justin Ibarra; and two great-nieces. Janice was preceded in death by her parents.
