Jim was born on November 24, 1915, in Grinnell, Iowa to Lewis and Myrtle Alexander Robison. He was raised in Grinnell and graduated from Grinnell High School with the Class of 1934. During World War II he served with the U.S. Marine Corp in the South Pacific Theatre and the occupation of Japan. On November 23, 1937, he was married to Vera Faye Reedy in Newton, Iowa. The couple lived in Grinnell and raised two sons, Bill and Jerry. He worked for the Maytag Company in Newton and as a custodian at the Grinnell High School. He also worked as a mail carrier and a mail clerk for the U.S. Postal Service for 27 years. Jim was a member of the Elks Lodge and the American Legion of Grinnell. He enjoyed traveling to National Parks, fishing, hunting and he was avid supportor of Grinnell High School athletics and sporting events. Survivors include two sons, William L. (Vicky) Robison of Livermore, CA and Jerry (Glori) Robison of Prescott, AZ; six grandchildren; and fourteen great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife; his parents; and one grandson, Michael James Robison. Memorials may be directed to the Grinnell High School Athletic Department.
