Hope Aree Pinkerton, age 58, passed away on March 12, 2026. She was born on December 4, 1967, in Grinnell, Iowa, to Hollis and Victoria (Steffens) Sisco.

Hope was raised in Aurelia, Iowa, where she attended Alta-Aurelia schools and later earned her GED. As a child and young woman, she cherished spending summers in Grinnell with her grandmother, creating lasting memories swimming and playing at Rock Creek as well as running the streets of Grinnell with friends.

Hope had a deep love for the outdoors and simple joys in life. She enjoyed fishing, searching for bottles along riverbanks, and taking long road trips. She was known for her free spirit, her sense of adventure, and her ability to find happiness in the little things.

For many years, Hope worked as a bartender in Cherokee, Iowa, where she formed many friendships and connections within the community.

Hope was married to Todd Pinkerton, and although they later divorced, they remained friends. Together they were blessed with two sons, TJ and Kody, who were the center of her world.

Hope is remembered by her sons, TJ (Alisyn) and Kody (Carrie); her cherished grandchildren, Phoenix, Pyper, Rylan, Kaydance, Paxton, Huxley, Phynlee, and Kaeston; her father, Hollis Sisco; her sister, Buffy(Bill) Renken; her nieces, Hannah Sisco(Hunter Versteegh), Samantha Renken(Dean Morrill), and Olivia Renken(Dat Nguyen); as well as several cousins and extended family members.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Victoria Steffens, several aunts, and uncles, and both her maternal and paternal grandparents.

Hope will be remembered for the many memories she created with those she loved. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
