Memorials: Helen L. Meyer Memorial Fund, P.O. Box 368, Grinnell, Iowa 50112. Helen was born on April 12, 1944 in Newton, Iowa to Cecil and Alice Marshall Ringgenberg. She was raised in Newton and graduated from Newton High School with the class of 1962. She was united in marriage to Wesley Meyer on December 23, 1982 in Grinnell, Iowa. They lived in Grinnell and Helen worked at General Telephone Company. Helen was a member of the Grinnell Eagles Club. She was an avid Iowa Hawkeyes and Iowa State Cyclones fan. Her enjoyments were tending to her garden, bowling with her friends at the Grinnell Bowladrome, and watching birds perch and feed on the many outside feeders she had at her home. Helen is survived by her two sons, Michael Gilbert and Wayne Meyer of Grinnell; two grandchildren, Dillon and Brittni Gilbert of Marengo, Iowa; her mother, Alice Ringgenberg of Newton, Iowa; and her siblings, Marilyn (Rod) Frederickson of Vancouver, Washington, Patricia Ringgenberg of Las Vegas, Nevada, George Ringgenberg of Des Moines, Iowa, and David Ringgenberg of Newton, Iowa. She was preceded in death by her father; her husband; and her son, Mark Gilbert.
