Obituary

Hazel was born on March 23, 1914, on the family farm near Brooklyn, Iowa to James and Gertrude Kenyon Keller. She was raised on the farm, attended country school and graduated with the Class of 1933 from Brooklyn High School. She remained on the family farm and assisted with household chores and raising her siblings. On January 30, 1953, she was united in marriage to Roy Mercer LeBeau at her parent's home. Hazel and Roy operated a grain and livestock farm southwest of Victor. She maintained the family's garden and raised chickens and ducks. She was employed for over ten years at the Victorian Inn. Hazel was a member of the Madison Church of Christ, the Farm Bureau and the H & W Club. She enjoyed raising flowers, needle work, reading, traveling and solving word puzzles. Survivors include her daughter, Jeanie Edwards of Victor; two granddaughters, Penny (Jim) Yenter of Williamsburg and Tammi (Corey) Twedt of Ankeny; two great grandchildren, Madalynne and Christopher Yenter; and one sister, Glenna Evans of Brooklyn. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her son-in-law, Marvin Edwards; two brothers, Arthur and Wallace Keller; and three sisters, Irma Reimers, Elsie and Shirley Keller. Memorials may be directed to the Madison Church of Christ.
