Gloria was born the daughter of Ralph Albert, Sr. and Flossie Klotz Albert on December 28, 1917, in Ladora, Iowa. She was raised in Ladora and graduated from Ladora High School with the Class of 1935.
In her younger years she worked as a waitress both in Iowa and South Dakota. Later she worked in retail and also owned and operated various businesses including the Ladora Sundry Store.
Gloria was a member of the Ladora United Methodist Church. She sold Avon products for many years and she was proud to be included in the Avon President's Club for her high level of sales year after year. Her enjoyments included playing cards, bingo, and going to the casino. She had lived in Ladora much of her life before recently moving to Victor.
Gloria is survived by her son, Richard (Sue) Johnson of St. Ansgar, Iowa; 3 grandchildren, Eric (Klara) Johnson of Prague, Czechoslovakia, Jeremy Johnson of Conroy, Iowa, and Haylee (Travis) Reif of Conroy, Iowa; 5 great grandchildren, Emilee, Morgan, McKenzie and Breigan Reif of Conroy, Iowa, and Antonie Johnson of Prague, Czechoslovakia; her sister-in-law, Marie Albert of Ladora, Iowa; and her nieces, Connie (Mike) Wahl, Lori (Ron) Caltagirone and nephew, Danny (Nancy) Albert. Gloria was preceded in death by her parents; son Carl Johnson, her husbands, Norman Sleeper, Emmett Agnew, Cecil Johnson, Harold Burdock, and Carl Barb; and her brothers, Ralph Albert, Jr. and Lester Albert.
