Glen Pierson Bell, age 95, of Grinnell, Iowa passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by family on Friday, June 14, 2024. Glen was born April 6, 1929, in Monroe, Iowa to Glen Vernon and Flonnie Ethel Bell (Cooper) who preceded him in death along with siblings Edith Rae Bell (Harness), Dorothy Jean Bell (Breuning), Richard Wayne Bell, Kenneth Norman Bell, and dear grandson Andrew Wayne Bell and Matthew Allen Henderson. The love of his life, Florence Marie Bell (Wright), also preceded him in death.

He is survived by his sons Norman Stanley Bell, James Pierson Bell; siblings, Margaret Ann Stone, and Joseph Eugene Bell; grandchildren, Samuel Jonathan Bell, Glen Oliver James Bell, James Pierson Bell II, Vance Robert Hobeck, Amanda Marie Fogarty, Patrick Lee Henderson, Andrew Gentry Henderson, several grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Foremost, Glen was a follower of Jesus Christ. Loved reading his Bible and discussing scripture with everyone.

He and Flossie enjoyed many activities such as camping and fishing. They spent time going to Bible camps and visiting family and friends around the country. He was a historian of Grinnell and surrounding areas. Everyone who knew or met Glen came away with the knowledge that he cared for them.

Glen was a professional baker, known throughout the industry for his knowledge and expertise. He worked at Grinnell College, Stockton's Supermarket, Tates Supervalu, Hazelwood Farms, and The Pillsbury Company.

A funeral service is scheduled for 10:00 AM, Friday, June 21, 2024 at Smith Funeral Home - Grinnell with burial at Hazelwood Cemetery. Family will greet friends one hour prior to the service beginning at 9:00 AM.

A visitation will be held from 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM, Thursday, June 20, 2024 at Smith Funeral Home - Grinnell.
