Gayle Ann Hasting, 50, of Grinnell died September 29, 2010, at her home.
A memorial service will be held 10:30 a.m. Friday, October 1, at the Smith Funeral Home in Grinnell.
The family will receive friends Friday morning prior to her service time.

Gayle was born March 10, 1960, in Chattanooga, Tennessee, the daughter of Paul and Dolores Marlow Hasting. She was raised in Wayne, Michigan and attended school there. Following her education, she moved to North Carolina.
On January 18, 1981, she was united in marriage to Brian Kelm, in Swansboro, North Carolina. The couple moved to Grinnell in 1982 where she raised her family. She later was employed at the Country Inn and EPC Plastics in Grinnell. In 2008, she was employed as assistant manager at Casey's General Store in Grinnell and retired earlier this year due to health reasons.
She was a member of the Cooking Club of America and National Wildlife Federation. She enjoyed arts and crafts including crocheting and oil painting. She was an avid reader and held a passion for fishing. She loved spending time with her family and held a wonderful sense of humor.
Survivors include two daughters Jessica Smith and Jennifer Briseno, both of Conway, Arkansas; two sons Paul Kelm and William Jeremy Hasting, both of Grinnell; one granddaughter Mercedes Smith of Conway, Arkansas; one sister Sandy (Steve) Barnard of Conway, Arkansas; three brothers Randy (Brenda) Hasting of Gulf Shores, Alabama, Lewis Sweeney of North Carolina, and David Sweeney of San Jose, California; and many other relatives including three cousins Debbie (Jimmie) Garrett of Shawboro, North Carolina, JoAnn (Terry) Smith of Ft. Payne, Alabama, and Kim Watson of Gadsden, Alabama. She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother John James Sweeney; one sister Sandra Sweeney; and a cousin Charles Hasting.
