Gail Denise Patterson Clark, age 70, of Grinnell, passed away at home under care of St. Croix Hospice on Wednesday, July 29, 2026.

Gail was born on December 6, 1955, in Topeka, Kansas, while her father was stationed at Forbes Air Force Base. She was the daughter of Kenneth Dale and Evelyn Dorene (Scarbrough) Patterson. Gail graduated from Northwest Christian School in Spokane, Washington, with the Class of 1974.

On May 22, 2004, Gail was united in marriage to Ronald Clark at Calvary Baptist Church in Grinnell. She was employed by Fareway Grocery Store for 42 years, where she worked as a cashier and produce clerk. Gail genuinely enjoyed serving others and was known for the kindness and care she showed each customer.

Faith was the foundation of Gail's life. She was a devoted member of First Friends Church in Grinnell, where she faithfully volunteered in the nursery and taught Bible study classes for youth. Gail also enjoyed crafting and lovingly created bereavement memorial gifts for spouses of those who had passed away, offering comfort and encouragement to many in the community.

Gail is survived by her husband, Ron Clark of Grinnell. She was preceded in death by her parents, Kenneth and Evelyn Patterson; and her brothers, Michael Patterson and Roy Patterson.

Private burial will be held at Our Silent City Cemetery in Kellogg.
