Frederick Edward Rhoads, 68, of Victor, IA, passed away at his home in Victor, IA on Tuesday, May 16, 2023.

Fred was born on May 20, 1954, in Ottumwa, IA, the son of Kenneth E. and May E. (Ruud) Rhoads.

Fred was raised in Ottumwa and graduated from Ottumwa High School in 1973. On May 13, 1981 Fred was united in marriage to Vicki Kay Hewitt in Williamsburg, IA. The couple lived in Williamsburg and later moved to Victor, IA. Fred worked for Amana Refrigeration for many years and later he was involved in commercial food service in the area until he became disabled and could no longer work.

Fred enjoyed living in Iowa and with his wife Vicki, and they had special places they visited often. Fred loved to chat with people he would meet and could be inspired to create drawings he would post on Facebook. Fred enjoyed music by the Eagles, John Mellencamp, and other classic rock artists. Fred would use his tablet to explore the internet for those things that fascinated him and to stay up on current events.

He is survived by his brothers Brad Rhoads of Idaho, Randy (Brenda) Rhoads of Arizona, and Rick Rhoads of Iowa. Fred is also survived by his very special cousin, Brenda Jackson of Illinois.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Vicki, a sister-in-law Brenda, and his youngest brother Kim Rhoads.

Per Fred's wishes, he has been cremated and no services are planned.
