Frances M. Eddy, 90, of Grinnell, died on Tuesday, May 16, 2006, at the Mayflower Homes Health Care Center. Services will be held at a later date. Memorials may be directed to the Mayflower Homes, the United Church of Christ-Congregational of Grinnell, or to Oberlin College. Frances was born on May 13, 1915, in Burton, Ohio, to Allen and Ethel Cook Eddy. She graduated from Decatur High School in Decatur, Illinois and received a BA degree from Oberlin College in Oberlin, Ohio. She also studied at the Chicago Theological Seminary. She served in United Church of Christ churches in various areasand prior to her retirement she was a missionary of the church in Turkey. She is survived by her sister, Mary Gooch of Tucson, AZ; and two nephews, Fred Gooch and Theodore Gooch, both of Tucson. She was preceded in death by her parents and an infant brother.
