Frances Geraldine "Jeri" Dickey, 84, of Grinnell died July 1, 2015, at St. Francis Manor in Grinnell. A private family gathering will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Frances "Jeri" Dickey Memorial Fund. Jeri was born May 5, 1931, in Osawatomie, Kansas, the daughter of Francis and Alta Cartwright Schiefelbusch. She was raised in Osawatomie and was a 1949 graduate of Osawatomie High School. On November 26, 1949, she was united in marriage with LaVerne Dickey, in Osawatomie, where the couple continued to make their home. Her husband worked for the railroad and she kept busy being a stay at home mom and raising her family. The couple lived in Overland Park, Kansas for several years and later Olathe, Kansas. They moved to Seeland Park in Grinnell in 2002. Jeri was a member of the First Baptist Church in Osawatomie and active in the church choir. She was a talented artist, musician and cook. She held a passion for collecting Barbie Dolls. Survivors include her husband, LaVerne of Grinnell; two daughters, Francene (David) Coons of Raleigh, North Carolina and Alesia (Tom) Lacina of Grinnell; and one grandson, Joe Lacina of Grinnell. She was preceded in death by her parents and one grandson, Jon Lacina.
