Florence "Pat" Ford, 95, of Grinnell, died August 29, 2012, at St. Francis Manor in Grinnell. A family graveside service will be held at a later date this fall in Independence, Iowa. There will be no visitation. Memorial contributions may be directed to Grinnell Regional Hospice or St. Francis Manor's Nursing Scholarship Fund. Pat was born March 17, 1917, in Des Moines, the daughter of Jacob and Connie DeMoss Habelitz. She attended East High School in Des Moines. She is survived by her daughter, Diane (Peter) Boeke of Grinnell; her son, Thomas (Pam) Schafer of Independence, Iowa; seven grandchildren, Shawn Schafer, Susan (Mike) Witt, Chad Ahrens, Julie (Troy) Gosselink, Melodye (Joe) Watson, John (Brian) Schafer, and Troy (Dawn) Schafer; and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; three siblings; her husbands; and one son, Gary Roy Schafer.
