Flonnie Matherly, age 94, of Grinnell, died on Wednesday, June 26, 2013, at St. Francis Manor in Grinnell.
A private family graveside service will be held on Saturday, June 29, 2013, at Hazelwood Cemetery in Grinnell.
Flonnie was born on July 29, 1918, in Mount Pisgah, Kentucky to Aut and Mollie (Delk) Stepp. She was raised and educated in Mount Pisgah.
She was united in marriage to Delmar Matherly on March 30, 1945 in Grinnell. The couple was blessed with a daughter, Donna and a son, James. Flonnie worked as a press operator at Midwest Manufacturing in Kellogg for many years. Her enjoyments were completing word searches and gardening.
Flonnie is survived by her daughter, Donna Turner of Grinnell; her son, James Randy Matherly of Grinnell; 6 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; 2 brothers, Menvil and Floyd Stepp; and 3 sisters, Della Stepp, Pearl Stepp Clifton, and Mag Stepp Foster.
