Ella Nicole Reedy passed peacefully in the arms of her mom and dad on March 10th, 2024, at the University of Iowa Stead Family Children's Hospital NICU due to complications from PPHN, meconium aspiration, and an unknown lung anomaly.

Ella was the beloved daughter of Mark Allan Reedy and Anna Marie Wagner of Des Moines, IA. She was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather, Ronald Gene Reedy of Malcom, IA; and her aunt, Nicole Rae Reedy of Des Moines, IA.

Ella enjoyed being read to, being sung to, being visited by her family and friends, and being held by her parents. She gave us a lifetime of love during her short time on earth, and she will be remembered and missed by many.

Her parents are eternally grateful for all the support they were provided by family, friends, and several charitable organizations during Ella's journey. Donations in her honor can be sent to the Ronald McDonald House Charity of Eastern Iowa and Western Illinois; to the Trappist Monks (Trappist Caskets) of Peosta, Iowa; to Now I Lay Me Down to Sleep infant bereavement photography; and to Big Hearts 4 Tiny Hands.

Ella's visitation will be held at Smith Funeral Home in Grinnell, IA, on Saturday, March 16th, from 9-11 AM. It will be followed by a short service open to all at Smith Funeral Home, and then by a private family graveside service at Ivy Hill Cemetery in Malcom, IA. The family invites all guests to join them at the Malcom Auditorium for a luncheon following the services.
