Obituary

The daughter of John Samuel and Blanche Carrie Christianson Osborn, Edith was born September 14, 1920, in Malcom Township, Poweshiek County, Iowa. She attended Malcom #9 rural school and later public school in Montezuma. Edith was a homemaker and for many years cared for her farm home, which she shared with her brother, John and sister, Lavina, east of Grinnell. She moved to the Mayflower Home Health Care Center in 2003. Edith enjoyed her life on the farm and taking care of the daily chores in the home. She was always busy. She had a passion for music, enjoyed needle point and handwork, and playing cards. She enjoyed flowers and arranging them in her home and raising her farm cats. She loved to socialize with family and friends, and cared deeply for her nieces and nephews. Survivors include one brother, Glenn Osborn of Montezuma; one sister, Lavina Osborn of Grinnell; nine nieces and nephews, Kevin Osborn of Montezuma, Ken Osborn of Cedar Rapids, Mary Fuhlendorf and Doris Byers of Denver, Colorado, Joyce Cheney of Surprise, Arizona, Carolyn Grosenbach and Barbara Saunders of Grinnell, Ronald Osborn of Malcom, and Roger Osborn of Kellogg; and several great-nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Dorothy Osborn and Mamie McKee; and three brothers, John, Lester and Raymond Osborn.
