Douglas Eugene See, Jr. was born the son of Douglas Eugene See, Sr. and Roberta (Graham) See on April 6, 1974 in Grinnell. He was raised in Grinnell and graduated from Grinnell High School with the class of 1992.
Doug was united in marriage to Reyne Lynn Stone on July 9, 1994 at the First Baptist Church in Grinnell. Their marriage was blessed with a son, Ethan. They lived in Grinnell all of their married lives. Doug worked for Vermeer in Pella for the last 29 years, through which he had the opportunity to travel to nearly every state and several countries. He made many a life-long friend through his employment and considered his Shop 48 team to be family.
Doug loved old cars and everything outdoors. He had restored countless classic cars and trucks over the years and loved coming up with new modifications with every build. He enjoyed watching football, especially the Minnesota Vikings and recently developed a fondness for woodworking and epoxy art. More than anything, though, he loved his family. His happiest days were those when Ethan was by his side, whether it was tinkering on an old car, sitting in a deer blind, or just chilling at home watching a movie. He will be remembered for his sense of humor, his creativity, for his dedication and loyalty, and the strong love of his family.
Doug is survived by his wife of 28 years, Reyne See of Grinnell; son, Ethan (Cait Maynes) See of Ames, Iowa; parents, Doug and Roberta See of Grinnell; and his sisters, Tammy Kriegel of Grinnell and Shelly (Mike) Manly of Okoboji, Iowa. He was preceded in death by his paternal and maternal grandparents; his brother-in-law, Dwayne Kriegel and a nephew, Drew Stone.
