Dorothy was born on July 24, 1924, at Montezuma, Iowa to Myrle and Blanche Wood Arment. She was raised in Grinnell and graduated from Grinnell High School. On June 22, 1947, she was married to Donald Niemants in Grinnell. The couple lived in Grinnell and she worked as an administrative assistant in the Grinnell-Newburg School System for over 25 years. She retired in 1986. Dorothy was a member of the Grinnell United Methodist Church, the Order of Eastern Star and the Poweshiek County Retired School Personel. She is survived by one daughter, Linda (Sharp) Lannom of Grinnell; two grandsons; three granddaughters; eight great grandchildren; two sisters, Mildred Cogley and Veda Reedy, both of Grinnell; and two brothers, Eugene Arment of Lynnville and Charles Arment of Grinnell. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband. Memorials may be directed to either the Grinnell United Methodist Church, the Grinnell Regional Medical Center or to the Mayflower Homes Human Needs Fund.
