Doris Louise Page, 87, of Grinnell, died on Saturday, June 7, 2014 at the Mayflower Community Health Care Center in Grinnell. A celebration of her life will be held 11:00 a.m., Saturday, July 19, 2014, at the Smith Funeral Home in Grinnell. The family will greet guests beginning at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday. Burial will be at a later date in Newton Memorial Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to Doris Page Memorial Fund and sent in care of the Smith Funeral Home, PO Box 368, Grinnell, Iowa 50112. Doris was born on April 5, 1927, to Otto and Belle Ann (Thompson) Durr in the Bethel neighborhood in rural Jasper County. She attended and graduated from Grinnell High School. She was married to Judd LaGrange in 1947, and they had one son, Dan. On January 1, 1965, she married William Page and they had one daughter, Kimberly. Doris was employed in housekeeping and as a certified nurse's aide at St. Francis Nursing Home and then at the Mayflower. She was a friend to many and enjoyed playing Bingo and socializing. Above all, she loved her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandkids. She will be missed by her children, Dan LaGrange of Omaha, Nebraska and Kimberly (Mike) Kaisand of Montezuma; nine grandchildren, Amanda (Josh), Matthew (Amanda), Dan Jr. (Jennifer), Don (Amy), Jerry (Amy), Dawn; step grandchildren, Robert, Travis (Natalie) and Dustin (Samantha); seven great grandchildren, Jada, Ember, Daniel, Katie, Luke, John, Joseph; and her siblings, Golda Sleeuwenhoek and Maynard Durr, both of Grinnell and Donna Rae Schulz of California. Doris was preceded in death by her parents and both her husbands and infant daughter, Tina.
