Donna Lee Arment, 78 of Grinnell and formerly of Lynnville, died January 29, 2015, at Windsor Manor in Grinnell. Funeral services are scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, February 3rd at the Smith Funeral Home in Grinnell with Rev. John Epperson of Grinnell officiating. Pallbearers will be Shawn and Troy Latcham and Trent, Travis, Cory and Colten Arment. Honorary bearers will be Stephanie Douglas, Trisha Ganfield, Crystal Stein, Heather Feenstra and Katie Arment. Burial will be in Hazelwood Cemetery in Grinnell. Visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday at the Smith Funeral Home with the family present from 6:00 until 8:00 Monday evening. Memorial contributions may be directed to Windsor Manor or to the Alzheimer's Association. Donna was born August 9, 1936, in Poweshiek County, Iowa, near Searsboro the daughter of Leland and Irene Walker Meredith. She was raised in the Searsboro area and was a 1953 graduate of Searsboro High School. Following high school she began her career at DeLongs Sportswear in Grinnell and retired in 1996, as order entry manager. She was a loyal employee for 43 years, good with numbers and was loved by her fellow employees and customers. On February 14, 1954, she was united in marriage with M. Eugene Arment at the Searsboro Friends Church. The couple lived in Searsboro prior to moving to Lynnville in 1988. She later moved to Windsor Manor in the fall of 2012, following the death of her husband. She was a member of the Grinnell Christian Church. Donna loved her family very much and was always so very proud of them. Her motto was "My family is my life." She enjoyed attending all their sporting events, dance recitals and other activities. She loved life and people! She was always a "people person" and enjoyed hosting family at holiday times and other family gatherings. She enjoyed cooking, eating, collecting Longaberger baskets, camping and traveling. She was a fan of the Chicago Cubs. Survivors include her four children, Teresa (Allen) Latcham of Lynnville, Mike (Brenda) Arment of Grinnell, Kevin (Ann) Arment of Lynnville and Jeff (Jodi) Arment of Lynnville; one brother, LeRoy Meredith of Grinnell; three sisters, Judy Mitchell, Betty Stepp and Yody Neeley all of Grinnell; 11 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband in 2012; one sister in infancy, Delores Meredith and two brothers, Jerry and Lyle Meredith.
