Donald Wayne Retter, of Gilman, died on May 29, 2024 at Iowa River Hospice Home in Marshalltown, IA.

Per his wishes, cremation has taken place with Smith Funeral Home - Grinnell and no services are planned.

Donald was born August 29, 1948 in Marshalltown, IA, the son of Floyd Victor and Mertie Glenn Retter. Donald moved to Maryland and worked at a textile mill among other various factory jobs. After retirement he moved back to Gilman, IA.

Donald is survived by his brothers, Ronald (Mary) Retter, and Glenn Retter; and sisters, Joann (Larry) Beck, Jeannie Freland, and Pam (Fred) Chevelle. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers Gerald, Roger and Floyd James Retter.
