Dominick Nace, age 49 of Blairstown and formerly of Victor, died on Friday, May 10, 2019, at his home. A funeral mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, May 17th at St. Bridget Catholic Church in Victor with Fr. Corey Close presiding. Interment will be at Calvary Cemetery in Victor. A reception will follow at St. Bridget Catholic Church. Visitation will begin at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday at the Smith Funeral Home in Victor and the family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Memorials may be designated to the Dominick Nace Memorial Fund and mailed in care of the Smith Funeral Home, PO Box 485, Victor, Iowa 52347. Dominick Daniel Nace was born the son of Ronald Adrian Nace and Karen Theresa (Reynolds) Nace on April 19, 1970 at Marengo Memorial Hospital in Marengo, Iowa. He was raised near Victor, Iowa and graduated from HLV High School in Victor with the class of 1988. He attended Kirkwood Community College in Cedar Rapids, Iowa and took courses in drafting. Following his education, he resided in Victor and Blairstown respectively, and was a general contractor. He was blessed with two daughters, Mackenzie and Elsa. Dominick's enjoyments were fishing, mushroom hunting, camping, and spending time with his daughters. He will be remembered for the love of his family, for being a skilled craftsman, and for being a friend to many. Dominick is survived by his parents, Ron and Karen Nace of Victor; his daughters, Mackenzie (Dylan Weaver) Nace of Elberon, Iowa and their daughter, Leia, and Elsa Nace of Blairstown; significant other, Nicole Akery of Blairstown; two brothers, Joe (Maureen) Nace of Chicago, Illinois, and Timothy (Theresa) Nace of South St. Paul, Minnesota, his nieces Hannah Nace, Adalyn Nace, and his nephew Benjamin Nace. He was preceded in death by his paternal and maternal grandparents.
