Debbie Barker, age 46, of Russell, Iowa, died on Sunday, October 4, 2015, at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines, Iowa. A celebration of her life will be held at a later date in Reno, Nevada. Memorials may be designated to the Poweshiek Animal League Shelter (PALS), mailed in care of the Smith Funeral Home, PO Box 368, Grinnell, Iowa 50112. Debbie is survived by her husband, Chad Barker of Russell, Iowa; son, Rick Barker of Russell; daughter, Nicole Barker of Chariton, Iowa; mother, Margaret (Hernandez) Gonzales of Reno, Nevada; and her siblings, Vivian Gonzales of Bakersfield, California, Ray Gonzales of Reno, Nevada, Yvonne Miranda of Los Angeles, California and Diana Ferreira of Manteca, California. She was preceded in death by her father, Raymond Gonzales.
