David Richard Roe, age 63 of Gilman, Iowa passed away April 23rd, 2020 at Grinnell Health Care Center where he had been residing. He is survived by his father F. Richard Roe, sisters Suzanne Golder (Ken), Laura Purdy (Chris) and 6 nieces and nephews; Eli Golder, Abigail Golder, Meghan Lisenby (Taylor), Quinn Purdy, Olivia Purdy and Sam Purdy. He is preceded in death by his mother Josie (Eames) Roe. He was a 1976 graduate of SEMCO High School in Gilman, and attended Wartburg College in Waverly, Iowa after graduation. He worked as a carpenter and roofer for many years, but he found the most joy when he could be fishing, hunting, trapping and spending as much time as possible outdoors. He will be remembered fondly for how much he enjoyed being an avid fisherman and skilled hunter, and for the love he had for his family. Dave was known for doing anything he could for someone who needed it and he will be missed by so many family and friends.
