David Dolmage, 80, of Victor, died on Saturday, July 2, 2022, at University of Iowa Hospitals in Iowa City. Visitation will begin at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, July 13, 2022 at the Smith Funeral Home in Victor and his family will receive friends from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 am on Thursday, July 14, 2022, at the Victor United Methodist Church. Inurnment will be held at Victor Memorial Cemetery. A luncheon will follow. David Wayne Dolmage was born the son of Wayne Price Dolmage and Hazel Mae (Lyman) Dolmage on May 18, 1942, in Grinnell, Iowa. He was raised in Victor and graduated from HLV High School in Victor with the class of 1960. He attended Simpson College in Indianola and the University of Iowa in Iowa City. Dave was united in marriage to Diane Lucille Lang on August 12, 1972, in Hampton, Iowa. The couple was blessed with a daughter, Leslie, and two sons, Grant and Greg. They raised their family on a farm near Victor, where Dave farmed for 23 years. After farming, he worked as a salesman for Kinze Manufacturing in Williamsburg. He was a member of the Victor United Methodist Church, served as a 4H Leader for over 10 years and was an ASCS committee member. Dave's enjoyments were farming, raising and showing livestock, visiting with friends and eating out. He will be remembered for his enjoyment of selling a product in which he believed, his passion for farming, and for the strong love of his family. Dave is survived by his wife of 49 years, Diane Dolmage of Victor; a son, Grant Dolmage of Cedar Rapids, IA, daughter, Leslie (Chris) Duggan of Alameda, CA; and a son, Greg (Sara) Dolmage of Lakewood, CA; five grandchildren – June, Henry, Guy, Jasper and Rory; siblings, Lillian Tiller of Port Townsend, WA, Dennis Dolmage of Grundy Center, IA, Daisianna Dodds of Burlington, IA, Richard Dean Dolmage of Victor, IA and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Thelma Richardson, Valerie Cope, Vern Dolmage, Colleen Dolmage, Sheila Varner, and Laura Reed; and nephews, Kevin Cerveny, Nick Dolmage, Frank Dolmage and Jarud Lang.
