Daniel Dee Shadden, 61, of Grinnell, Iowa passed away on August 23, 2026, at his home in Grinnell, Iowa.

Daniel was born on May 28, 1965, in Unionville, MO to Gene Glenn and Mina Rae Shadden. After graduating from high school, he enlisted in the Army and rose to the rank of staff sergeant.

Daniel worked as a metal fabricator at Donaldsons, and later JELD-WEN.

He enjoyed fishing, hunting morel mushrooms, visiting the Iowa Speedway, and spending time with friends. Though he could appear gruff, he was generous and would give the shirt off his back. He was a great friend to many.

Daniel is survived by his daughter, Christin Shadden, of Texas, his grandchildren, Midori, Kaynin, Ducati and Viera, his siblings, Carl (Brenda) Shadden of Marshalltown, IA, April Shadden of Clear Lake, IA, and Mark (Isa) Shadden of Florida.

He is preceded by his parents, Gene and Mina Rae.
