Daniel Kent, 54, of Brooklyn, died at his home under the care of St. Croix Hospice on Sunday, January 21, 2024.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, April 20, 2024 at Ivy Hill Cemetery in Malcom. A celebration of life gathering will follow at the Malcom Auditorium.

Daniel Lloyd Kent was born the son of Harold and Peggy (Davis) Kent on April 22, 1969 in Grinnell, Iowa. He was raised in Brooklyn, Iowa and graduated from BGM High School. Throughout the years, Dan remained close with his high school classmates, Shawn Roberts, Chip Burch, and Teresa Adams.

Following his education, Dan worked for Pizza Hut in Grinnell, JeldWen Windows and Doors in Grinnell, and most recently at Meskwaki Casino in Tama. His enjoyments included playing video games and watching Iowa Hawkeyes football games.

Dan is survived by his parents, Harold and Peggy Kent of Brooklyn; and a brother, Phillip Kent of Brooklyn. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Harry and Helen Kent, and his maternal grandparents, Lloyd and Doris Davis.
