Obituary

Dagmar Margaret Kaufman (nee Steensgaard) passed away on February 16, 2019 in Pewaukee, Wisconsin. She was born on September 6, 1920 in Nichols, Wisconsin to Andrew and Dorothy (nee Nielsen) Steensgaard. Dagmar married Raymond George Carl Kaufman on June 6, 1943 at the First Lutheran Church in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. They had two children Joyce (Donald) Krueger and Russell Kaufman. Ray and Dagmar lived and farmed in Lincoln and Dayton Township, Iowa until they retired in 1971 to Williamsburg, Iowa. She also worked in the Williamsburg Care Center as a nurse's aide. In 2000, Dagmar moved to Pewaukee, Wisconsin to be near her daughter and family. Dagmar loved to sew, embroider, and quilt. She and Ray also enjoyed traveling with family and friends in their camper around the United States. She is survived by her daughter Joyce Ann (Donald) Krueger, grandchildren Scott (Karen) and Heather (Joe) Olson, and two great granddaughters Claudia and Audyn Krueger. She is further survived by many other family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son, son-in-law, three brothers and four sisters. Visitation will be held on Monday February 25, 2019 from 4:00 pm until the time of service at 5:00 pm at Cesarz, Charapata & Zinnecker Funeral Home, 237 Moreland Blvd. Waukesha, WI 53188. Dr. Richard Krause will be officiating. A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 2, 2019 at St. John's Lutheran Cemetery south of Victor, Iowa. In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated to Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church, W240 N3103 Pewaukee Rd, Pewaukee, WI 53072.
