Cora Mae "GG" Creamer, 87, of Grinnell, died on November 24, 2020, at the Grinnell Health Care Center. Due to Covid-19, a Celebration of Life service will be held at a later date. Cora was born on May 22, 1933, in Potawatomi County, Oklahoma, the daughter of Jesse James and Maime Chisholm Starr. She was raised in Shawnee, Oklahoma and graduated high school there. She was a proud member of the Absentee Shawnee Tribe. On June 17, 1963, she was united in marriage to Maurice Joseph Creamer, in Las Vegas. The couple lived in several locations including the Los Angeles area, Grinnell, and Moline prior to moving to Las Vegas in 1990. After the death of her husband, on May 28, 1990, Cora later returned to Grinnell. She had been a resident at the Grinnell Health Care Center since September of 2015. Cora spent the majority of her life employed in the food service industry as a cook; this included assisting her husband in operating Maury's Steakhouse, downtown Main Street in Grinnell, the Maid Rite, the Longhorn Resturant, and in the kitchen at Friendship Manor in Grinnell. While living in Moline, she was employed at Augustana College. Cora retired in 2010, but was a volunteer cook at Grinnell Eagles Club and Grinnell Elks Lodge for several more years. She was a member of the Grinnell lady Elks and the Eagles Club Auxiliary. Cora was a loving and doting grandmother to her three grandchildren. She loved the Holiday seasons, planning dinners and entertaining her family, and all the decorating her home. She loved and enjoyed the care of animals and completing cross-word puzzles. She was an avid reader and especially enjoyed listening to KGRN radio. Cora is survived by her daughter, Maureen Creamer of Grinnell; three grandchildren, Kimberly (Timothy) Latzke of Chelsea, Jenny (David) Poush of Victor, and Seth (Jessica) Poush of Grinnell; five great-grandchildren, Jade, Lillianna, Katherine, Benjamin, and Owen; and many close relatives in Shawnee and Tecumseh, Oklahoma. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and one brother, Charles Starr.
