Christopher Ferguson, 50, of Grinnell and formerly of Montezuma and Des Moines, died on Monday, May 30, 2022, at UnityPoint Grinnell Regional Medical Center. A memorial gathering will be held from 4:00 pm until 6:00 pm on Monday, June 6, 2022, at the Smith Funeral Home in Grinnell. Memories and condolences may be shared with his family online at www.smithfh.com. Christopher Curtis Ferguson was born the son of David and Ann (Graham) Ferguson on June 22, 1971, in Grinnell, Iowa. He was raised and educated in Grinnell and Des Moines. Christopher resided and thrived at CIRSI in Grinnell since 2009, and most recently at Montezuma Nursing and Rehabilitation. He will be remembered for his sense of humor and interest in others. He looked forward to visiting friends and meeting new people, putting his own special spin on everyone's names. He loved birdwatching, animals, SpongeBob and WWE. Christopher is survived by his parents, David and Ann Ferguson of Grinnell; his sister, Laura Ferguson (Tim Ellsworth) of Grinnell and her children, Kate and Sam Wiley; his brother, Carlos Ferguson of New Orleans; his brother, Lee Ferguson (Mami Kurumada) of Freiburg, Germany and his daughter Selina Ferguson and his entire CIRSI family. He was preceded in death by his paternal and maternal grandparents.
