Charlie Rubendall, 68, of Grinnell died on October 16, 2018, at his home. No services are planned at this time. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Charlie Rubendall Memorial Fund. Charlie was born on September 24, 1950, in Ames, the son of Ernest L. "Bud" and Mary "Jean" Sills Rubendall. He grew up in Grinnell and received his education in the Grinnell School District. He graduated in 1969 at a high school in Mitchell, South Dakota. He moved to the Phoenix, Arizona area in the late 1970's and was employed in the food industry. In 2012, he returned to Grinnell to make his home and was employed at Jeld-Wen. He retired in 2014. Charlie enjoyed woodworking, playing cards, and darts; and he loved playing cribbage! He also enjoyed spending his time with family and gardening. He is survived by his children, Charlie (Lisa) Gibbons, Tobby (Robert) Steele and Chrisstella Archuleta; his mother, Jean Rubendall; two sisters, Susan Ford and Valerie Hughes; nine grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Bud Rubendall and one brother, Daniel Rubendall.
