Carla "Red" McFee, 79, of Grinnell, Iowa, died on Friday, January 30, 2015, at St. Francis Manor in Grinnell. No services are planned. Inurnment will be at the Cave Hill Cemetery in Louisville, Kentucky. Should friends desire, memorials may be directed to Grinnell Regional Hospice and sent in care of the Smith Funeral Home, P.O. Box 368, Grinnell, Iowa 50112. She was born on October 30, 1936, in Bartlesville, OK to Gordon and Lucasta Sellards Greene. She was raised in Oklahoma and graduated with a BA degree in elementary education from the University of Kentucky. On June 28, 1958, she was married to Everett Alan McFee while they were students in college. She was a reading teacher for several years. The couple lived on a farm near Britt, Iowa and she pursued her artistic interests with her business, Alcar Wool Art. Carla worked in her art business for over 25 years selling hand-made crafts throughout the United States. She enjoyed spending time with her family and they will greatly miss her. Survivors include her children, Diane Wilson of Springfield, MO, Lee McFee of Grinnell, IA, Wade McFee of Champlin, MN and Monica McKeon of Foster City, CA; eight grandchildren; and two great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband and her parents.
