Beverly "Babe" was born on May 2, 1937, in Iowa City, Iowa to James and Irene Maxey Funk. She was raised in Iowa City and graduated from Iowa City High School with the Class of 1956. On September 13, 1958, she was married to Robert C. Lloyd in Iowa City. The couple moved to Grinnell and she was employed as a cashier at McNally's Food Store and as a dental assistant for Drs. Brock and Baumann. From 1970 to 1986 she worked in the food service of the Grinnell-Newburg School District. Beverly was a member of the United Methodist Church in Grinnell and the Lady Elks. She enjoyed playing golf, teaching cake decorating, working on craft projects, spending time with her grandchildren and walking with her husband. She is survived by her husband, Robert Lloyd of Grinnell; three sons, Mark (Patty) Lloyd and Brent Lloyd, both of Grinnell and Scott (Alice) Lloyd of Ankeny; eight grandchildren; two great grandchildren; two sisters, Karen Kennedy and Linda Funk, both of Iowa City; and three brothers, Ronnie Funk and Raymond Funk, both of Iowa City and Lonnie Funk of Dacula, Georgia; and one sister-in-law, Lynne Funk of Yorba Linda, California. She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Randy Funk. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Beverly J. Lloyd Memorial Fund.
