Obituary

She was born on May 4, 1909, in Barnett, Missouri to William and Leona Agee Milburn. She received her education at the Goodman School near Barnett. On May 3, 1927, she was married to Herbert C. Wyss in Jefferson City, Missouri. The couple moved to Iowa in 1930, and settled in the Grinnell area in 1932. The family owned and operated Wyss Produce in Grinnell for over 30 years. Later, they operated an egg and poultry farm. She resided at Brookside South in Grinnell before moving to Friendship Manor three years ago. Beulah accepted the Lord as her savior on July 8, 1936 during a tent revival held by Rev. David Hastle with Rev. T.W. Stark as pastor. She was a long-time member of the Grinnell Assembly of God Church. She served her church faithfully in attendance, encouragement, teaching Sunday school and financial support. Beulah loved her family and was giving of herself to anyone in need. Her greatest joy was making a pot of stew, baking and gardening and then sharing with her neighbors and friends. In her latter years she spent most of her time praying and reading the Bible. She served her Lord until her death, and she will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. She is survived by her children and their spouses, Carmen and Arthur Schooley of Bloomfield, Iowa, Ross Wyss of North Miami Beach, Florida, and Darrell and Linda Wyss of Brooklyn, Iowa; 11 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; and 11 great great grandchildren. Beulah died on Thursday, January 13, 2005, at Friendship Manor in Grinnell. She was 95 years of age, and she was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; two sisters, Veda Rudinger and Dollie Rice; and six brothers, Earl, Roy, Logan, Jessie, Omar and Ira Milburn. Memorials may be directed to the Assembly of God Church in Grinnell and sent in care of the Smith Funeral Home, PO Box 368, Grinnell, Iowa 50112.
