Bea Klima Woodrum, 79, of Ladora died May 6, 2005, at St. Luke's Hospital in Cedar Rapids.
A funeral mass has been scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 10, 2005, at St. Bridget Catholic Church in Victor, with Bishop William Franklin and Rev. Brian Shepley officiating. Organist will be Verabeth Bricker. Vocalists will be Anna Upah, Beth Henning and members of St. Bridget and St. Patrick's Choir. Violinist will be Edmond Henning. Pallbearers will be Richard Chittick, Bill Klima, Frank Klima, Chris Lutz, Tom Milder, Rob Pilcher, Marshall Ritchie and Mike Smith. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery in Cedar Rapids. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Bea Klima Woodrum Memorial Fund.
The daughter of John F. and Tilda Milholin Frnaklin, she was born September 1, 1925, in Parnell, Iowa. She was raised in Parnell and was a 1943 graduate of Parnell High School. Following her education she moved to Cedar Rapids and was employed at Newell Machinery. She was married to Cyril Klima October 3, 1949, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Cedar Rapids. The couple farmed near Tama for several years and then returned to Cedar Rapids in 1955. She was employed as an administrator at Collins Radio, later Rockwell International, and retired in 1983. After the death of her first husband in 1984, she was married to Dean Woodrum September 7, 1991, at All Saints Catholic Church in Cedar Rapids. The couple moved to Ladora in 1993. She was a member of All Saints Catholic Church and was active with their senior dinners, Young at Heart, Legion of Mary and All Saints Prayer Group. She later became a member at St. Bridget Catholic Church.
Survivors include her husband, Dean of Ladora; two children, Franklin (Joan) Klima of Williamsburg and Cynthia Klima of Cedar Rapids; two step-children, Debbie (Richard) Chittick and Dawn (Mike) Smith of Ladora; one brother, Bishop William Franklin of Davenport; three sisters, Vera Crofter of Iowa City, Harriet (Walter)Farnham of Minneapolis, and Elvarose (Harley) Squires of Cedar Rapids; seven grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; and three great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband; two brothers, Vernon and Robert Franklin; and one step-grandson, Derek Smith.
