Obituary

Barbara A Graham, 54, of Grinnell died February 24, 2006, at Grinnell Regional Medical Center. Funeral services are scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Tues., February 28, at the Smith Funeral Home in Grinnell with the Rev. Carol Myers, pastor of the Sheridan United Methodist Church, near Grinnell, officiating. Organist will be Kathleen McCune and pianist will be Peggy Parker. Vocalists will be Kari Graham and Molly Schneekloth. Pallbearers will be Brian Graham, Darren Walton, Richard Stone, Kenneth Graham, James Graham, and Duane Harthoorn. Burial will be in the Sheridan Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 12:00 noon to 9:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home and where the family will be present from 6:00 to 8:00 Monday evening. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Sheridan United Methodist Church. The daughter of Virgil and Dorothy Neitzel Stone, she was born September 24, 1951, in Grinnell and was raised in Sheridan Township. She was a 1969 graduate of Grinnell High School and a graduate of AIB in Des Moines. She also attended Iowa State University. She was married to her high school sweetheart, Raymond Graham on February 26, 1972, at the Sheridan United Methodist Church. The couple lived in the Ames area and moved to the Grinnell in 1973. She was a devoted mother and homemaker and also from 1989 to 2002 she was an employee at the Mayflower Home in Grinnell where she enjoyed interacting with the residents and working with her friends on the staff. She was a member of the Sheridan United Methodist Church, where she was an organist for many years. She was also a member of the United Methodist Women and Homemakers Club in Sheridan Township. Survivors include her husband, Raymond of Grinnell; her parents, Virgil and Dorothy Stone of Grinnell; two children and their spouses, Brian and Kari Graham of Cedar Rapids, Stacy and Darren Walton of Grinnell and a granddaughter, Nina; and one brother and his wife, Richard and Diane Stone of Ankeny.
