Anna Louise Doty, 104, died on Friday, November 3, 2023 at St. Francis Manor, Grinnell.

A private family graveside service will be held at Hazelwood Cemetery, Grinnell.

A Celebration of Life Service is scheduled for 11:00 AM, Saturday, November 25, 2023 at Smith Funeral Home - Grinnell.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be designated to St. Francis Manor Foundation or Grinnell Christian Church, and mailed in care of Smith Funeral Home, PO Box 368, Grinnell, IA 50112.

Anna Louise Larsen was born on November 25, 1918, in Grinnell, the daughter of Knudt and Olga Figland Larsen. Louise graduated from Grinnell High School with the class of 1936. On May 24, 1939, Louise was united in marriage to Melvin Doty in Grinnell, IA. The couple celebrated 61 years of marriage prior to Melvin's death in 2000. Together they farmed and raised their family in Brooklyn. Louise was employed at Poweshiek County Farm Bureau where she worked as an office manager. She retired in 1985 after 20 years of employment.

Louise was a member of the Grinnell Christian Church, Women's Fellowship, River Road Club, Emanon Club, and PEO. She enjoyed her life on the farm, spending time with family, and her church.

Louise is survived by children Marlene (Robert) Toney, Merle (Gloria) Doty, and Eugene (Robyn) Doty; grandchildren, David (Cristy) Toney, Daniel (Holly) Toney, Angela (Jeff) Clement, Matthew (Kimberly) Doty, Mark (Leah) Doty, Michael (Vanessa) Doty, Susan (Mack) Jorth, Kristie (Kyle) Dana, Erin Doty, Nathan (Jordan) Doty, and Scott (Sara) Hinkle; great-grandchildren, Rachel (Cory) Guymon, Renee (Jeffrey) Bookhout, Caleb and Olivia Toney, Joseph, Andrew and Jacob Clement, Pearl, Camille, and Sam Doty, Mason (Ashley) Doty, Kailee (Kaleb) Reid, Kyle, Mallorie, and Mashayla Doty, Megan, William, and Derek Doty, Hannah and Theo Jorth, Hope and Naomi Dana, Jackson, Brooklyn, and Lincoln Doty, and Reese and Ramsey Hinkle; great-great-grandchildren, Avery Guymon, Owen, LilyAnn and Oliver Doty; brother, Roger Larsen, and sister-in-law, Shirley Larsen.

Louise is preceded in death by her parents, Knudt and Olga; husband, Melvin; brothers, Kenneth, Raymond, and Delmar Larsen; sisters, Clara Ryan and Gladys Larsen; brother-in-law, Warren Ryan; and sister-in-law, Evelyn Larsen.
