Aaron Clyde Corbin was born on November 27, 1938, in Marshalltown, the only child of John Oliver and Martha May (McCosh) Corbin. The family moved several times during his childhood, living in Marshalltown, Mason City, Lewiston, ID, and then settling in Grinnell. In 1954, when Aaron was 15 years old, his father passed away. Aaron stepped into the role as the man of the house and lovingly cared for his mother until her death in 1991. He was a 1957 graduate of Grinnell High School. He furthered his education by studying drafting at Chicago Tech College.

On November 18, 1960, he was united in marriage to Donna Fae Larsen, at the Grinnell Christian Church. The couple lived in Des Moines and Clinton prior to building their home in Oakland Acres in 1972. Following the death of his wife, Aaron continued to live in Oakland Acres and later moved to Grinnell.

After completing five weeks of training at the Highway Patrol Academy in 1962, Aaron began a 32-year career with the Iowa State Patrol and was primarily assigned to Jasper County. During those years, he also worked part-time at the Oakland Acres Golf Club mowing the fairways and enjoying golfing with his family in his spare time. He retired from the patrol in 1994 and went on to work for the U.S. Marshal Service at the U.S. District Court, Southern District of Iowa, in Des Moines for another ten years. To fill his time in retirement, he worked part-time for several local businesses including Tharp Pharmacy, Grinnell Regional Medical Center, and Wes Finch Auto Plaza. He loved being with family and attending events for his grandchildren. You could often find him at A&M Cafe chatting with friends and teasing the staff.

Aaron was a member of the Grinnell Christian Church, where he was active as an Elder and served as a youth sponsor with Donna. He was always happy to lend a hand when needed, whether helping with a project, giving rides to an appointment or church, or offering a word of advice if asked.

Aaron was preceded in death by his parents, wife Donna, son Michael and infant daughter Marsha. He is survived by his daughters Cheryl Corbin of Ankeny, and Cathy (Terry) Fraker of Lynnville; granddaughter Katheryn (Jonathan) Witte of Milford, OH; grandsons Connor Fraker of Sully, and Zane Fraker of Lynnville; and great-grandchildren Elianna, Corbin, Killian, and Asher Witte, all of Milford, OH.
