Robert was born on November 7, 1915, on the family farm near Sully, Iowa to Victor and Bessie Mol Renaud. He was raised on the family farm and attended a country school in rural Jasper County. He was married to Mary Hester Whitcomb in 1935 in Grinnell, Iowa, and to this union was born two children, Linda and Larry. Robert and Mary operated a grain and livestock farm for many years south of Sully. He enjoyed attending farm auctions and collected antiques, stamps and coins. He also enjoyed farming the land, hunting and fishing. Following their retirement in the mid 1990s they moved to Grinnell to make their home. Robert is survived by his children and their spouses Linda and Raymond Dixon of Peoria, Illinois and Larry and Lynda Renaud of Sully; three grandchildren; six great grandchildren; and two sisters, Bernice Butin of Monroe, IA and Jean Morris of New Sharon, IA. Robert died on Saturday, January 21, 2006, at St. Francis Manor in Grinnell, IA. He was 90 years of age, and he was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; and one sister Joyce VerSteeg.
