Rick was born on June 6, 1950, in Belle Plaine, Iowa, to John Wayne and Lois Marie Campbell DeDecker. He was raised in Ladora and attended Ladora schools before graduating from HLV High School in 1970. He was married to Debra Kay Davis in Brooklyn and to this union was born three children, Chad, Rhea and Brad. He worked in the microwave department of the Amana Company for 24 years. After his retirement from Amana he worked in various jobs in the Victor area. Rick enjoyed outdoor activities such as hunting and fishing and he was a drag racing fan. He is survived by his children, Chad, Rhea and Brad DeDecker, all of Victor and Angela Blackford of Alburnett, Iowa; three grandchildren, Logan, Brenton and Dalton Blackford; his mother, Lois DeDecker of Victor; and two sisters and their spouses, Linda (Ernie) Meyer of Victor and Penne (Duane) Rhinehart of Victor. Rick died on Monday, February 20, 2006 at his home of a heart condition. He was 55 years of age, and he was preceded in death by his father.
