Marjorie Elaine Casey was born on May 22, 1923 in rural Tama County, Iowa to Roy and Meta (Snyder) Casey. She was raised on the family farm near Chelsea and Montezuma, respectively. She graduated from Montezuma High School in 1940.

Following her education, Marjorie moved to Grinnell and worked at Brenton Bank. A few years later, she began working for Rockwell Collins in Cedar Rapids and was later transferred to California. She moved back to Iowa in the 1970’s and lived in Des Moines, where she served as the administrative assistant to the director at the Veterans Administration Hospital. She was a member of the Immanuel Methodist Church in Des Moines.

Marjorie’s family was her life. She was a caregiver to her mother for many years. She dearly loved her nieces and nephews and enjoyed doing activities and taking them places to make a memory. Her needlepoint work was second to none and her work was nominated and featured at the White House for Christmas during the Clinton Administration. Her enjoyments included traveling, gardening, reading, going out to eat, and being with her family. She will be remembered for the love of her family and for her kind, caring and non-judgmental way.

Marjorie is survived by her sister, Madolyn Braley of Grinnell, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; and two brothers, Deane and Darrell Casey.
