Katherine Ann Jones, age 59 of Grinnell, Iowa, passed away peacefully in her home on Sunday, March 12, 2017. A private family graveside service will be held at Hazelwood Cemetery in Grinnell. Memorial donations are encouraged to P.A.L.S. (Poweshiek Animal League Shelter) P.O. Box 123, Grinnell, IA 50112. The youngest of four children, Kathi was born April 5, 1957, in Grinnell to Harold L. and Doris (Inman) Jones. She is survived by two sisters, Karla Mayhew of Minnetonka, MN, Lynda Jones (Dean McClelland) of Grinnell; brother, Stephan Jones of Watertown, MN; two nieces, Nicole and Stephanie (Jose) from Minnesota; two great nieces, Alana and Elise; and great nephew, Alexander. She was preceded in death by her parents. Kathi was a bright light to all who knew her, direct, spirited with an incredible sense of humor and most of all she loved to laugh. She loved all animals and throughout her entire life she was dearly devoted to her many cats and dogs. She enjoyed traveling and going to flea markets with her sisters in Iowa and Minnesota, where she always found something to add to her collections. Kathi will be deeply missed, but remembered always by her family and friends.
